FAQ’s
Do you take health insurance?
We do not take Health insurance but we do take Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Dr. Melanie is treating the underlying cause of your issue which takes time that insurance does not allow.
What is the process/how does Naturopathic medicine work?
The first appointment with Dr. Melanie is one hour long. You discuss your health history, everything physical, mental, and emotional and come up with a plan together that may include lab work. She may also start you on dietary and lifestyle changes while you wait on your labs.
Lab reviews are 45 minutes long. This is when you really get into the nitty-gritty of what’s going on in your body, and establish a protocol of dietary changes, supplementation, or other treatments, depending on your issue.
Dr. Melanie has a medical director, Dr. William Scott Nall, DO, which allows her to write some scripts and order regular blood work labs that you can possibly use your insurance. Functional labs are not covered by insurance.
Typically Dr. Melanie will do a 20 minute check in with you at about 6-8 weeks to make sure you are improving and adjust if needed.
How many visits will I need?
Healing timelines vary, but many patients begin noticing improvements within weeks while deeper healing may take several months. Once a protocol is started, an average timeline is a 10% improvement a week for your main issue. Sometimes is can be faster or a bit longer depending on how long you have had the issue.
If I have Dr. Melanie (with Dr. Nall) write my thyroid, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy or peptide script what is the appointment requirement?
For ongoing scripts Dr. Melanie requires a follow up appointment every 6 months
